Jonathan is the Government Office lead for the Department of Business,
Innovation and Skills and European Structural Funds.
He is the chair of six regional forums/boards:
- Public Sector Economy Forum
- St Chad's College, University of Durham
- Interim Regional Transport Board
- Regional Resilience Forum
- North East Programme Management Committee for European Structural
Funds
- New Writing North, the literature development agency for the North of
England.
Jonathan's previous positions include:
- Director of One North East
- Regional Director for English Partnerships (now Homes and Communities
Agency)
- Director of Newcastle City Challenge
- Regional Projects Manager for the Audit Commission.
