Kate has substantial board level experience with her current roles
including:
- Chair of the Leadership Centre for Local Government
- Chair of the Standing Committee on Structural Safety
- Chair of the Island Health Care Charitable Trust
- Vice Chairman of Scarborough Building Society
- Trustee and Director of the Foundation for Built Environment
- Council member Newcastle University
- Member of Sector Skills Council
- Chair of the Commission of Inquiry, North Tyneside Council.
Kate has become an expert in government procurement and has led a number of
key HM Treasury reviews in other government departments
including HM Revenue and Customs and the Deptartment for Culture,
Media and Sport.
As well as an MBA from Edinburgh University, Kate is a Companion of the
Institution of Civil Engineers, an Honorary Fellow of the Institute of
Health Care Engineering and Estate Management and a Fellow of the Royal
Society of Arts. Kate previously held Honorary Visiting Fellowships at
University of Manchester and the University of York and was previously a
member of the Building Magazine’s Editorial Board and the London
Council of CBI.
Married, Kate lives in Northumberland and when she has time enjoys
graphology, cooking, travel and opera.
