Tony is currently Lynda Keith’s deputy and has responsibilities covering the broad remit of corporate management and resilience. He is also the Government Office Change Manager, responsible for coordinating activity in the North East relating to the GO Review Transformation Programme.
Tony has over 30 years experience as a civil servant in the region and has enjoyed a wide range of jobs in the course of his career, including:
- government systems auditor
- European programmes manager
- Head of Personnel and Finance at the Disease Emergency Control Centre (set-up to deal with the 2001 outbreak of foot and mouth disease)
- Head of Neighbourhood Renewal for the northern half of the region
- on secondment as head of the North East Housing Board Unit.
He is probably best known to stakeholders in the region for his involvement in regeneration and renewal initiatives since the early 1980s.
