Yvonne joined Government Office at the beginning of March 2005 as Director for Neighbourhood Renewal and was responsible for Local Strategic Partnerships, New Deal for Communities, Neighbourhood Management, Community Empowerment Networks and Rural Community Councils.
Yvonne has over 20 years experience in the public sector. The main focus of her work has been employment and skills. Yvonne’s early work included the Manpower Services Commission and Department for Education and Employment. She later became Head of the Regional Disability Service and more recently District Manager with the Employment Service in Tees Valley.
The majority of Yvonne's work in her current post has been focused on place. She was the lead negotiator for the Tees Valley Multi Area Agreement supported by two locality managers who have responsibility for the five Tees Valley local area agreements. She has recently had a temporary move and is currently Acting Deputy Regional Director for Europe with responsibility for the closure of European programmes 2000-2006.
