and Local Government and with organisations responsible for implementing
its policies in the region, including:
- local partnerships (mainly Community safety partnerships and drugs
action teams)
- National Offender Management Service (prisons and probation services)
- local authorities
- Association of North East Councils
- police forces
- Youth Justice Board
- youth offending teams
- National Treatment Agency for Substance Misuse
- domestic violence and drugs projects.
We provide a link between the government and these organisations by:
- giving advice, sharing information and ensuring that the local
organisations implement government policies consistently across the region
in various ways, including organising regional meetings and events and
developing regional strategies
- distributing government funding to help the organisations develop and
implement projects in the North East.
