Appointment of Board Members - Culture North East

Do you have a passion for North East England? Do you have the ideas and the commitment to help enhance and sustain the cultural life of our region?

Culture North East (CNE) is one of eight regional cultural consortiums in England charged with providing a central focus for debating, representing and developing the broad spectrum of cultural and creative interests in the region.  The consortium is an Executive Non-Departmental Public Body and a Company Limited by Guarantee, sponsored by the Department for Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS).

 

CNE is committed to strengthening its role as DCMS’ regional strategic advisory body for culture, to generating ideas that will inform, enhance and sustain the cultural life of the region and to adding real value to the cultural sector in the North East.

 

In appointing to the Board for the first time since our incorporation, we are offering an exciting opportunity to up to 5 new members to help us lead and shape strategic cultural thinking in the region.  You will:

 

  • Have a passion for North East England and its culture;
  • Be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of wider regional development issues;
  • Bring a good track record of partnership working, networking, leadership and negotiation;
  • Be able to demonstrate creativity and innovation of thought, and a have a strategic vision for cultural development in the region;
  • Be committed to supporting CNE and its Chair in delivering our aims and objectives.

Appointments are normally for a period of 3 years.  Whilst no fees are paid, reasonable expenses are refunded.
