North East event aims to foster good business with Germany

Published: Mon, 12 May 2008 09:04:57

North East firms are being offered the chance to find out how they can "foster" good business relationships with Germany at a special event this month (May).

UK Trade & Investment will be hosting the event at One NorthEast offices on Tuesday, 20 May, when Peter Foster, head of UK Trade & Investment's Commercial Section in Germany will be on hand to outline the opportunities available in this dynamic market.

Keith Stockdale, one of UK Trade & Investment's International Trade Advisers, who will lead the event, explained:

"Germany is the UK's second largest global market and is our largest European export market with more than £30.5 billion worth of goods and services exported there every year and around 1,000 British companies have subsidiaries in Germany.

"UK companies export a huge range of products and services to Germany and there are opportunities in many sectors, particularly vehicles and components, petroleum and gas, healthcare, aerospace, chemicals and creative industries.

"The event offers an ideal opportunity to get an insight into the market and the wide range of support services available through UK Trade & Investment to help. There is also a chance to have one-to-one meetings with our expert Peter to allow delegates to discuss any specific requirements their company may have."

The event at the One NorthEast boardroom, Stella House, Newburn Riverside, Newcastle, 10.30am-2pm on Tuesday, 20 May, is free but the number of places available is limited. A buffet lunch is included.

To book your place or to find out more about the wide range of services available through UK Trade & Investment contact the North East Regional International Trade Hotline on 0845 05 05 054 or email enquiries@ukti.rito.co.uk
