Free South Africa 'Sofa Safari' offered to North East firms

Published: Wed, 28 May 2008 09:21:11

Places are being snapped up but there's still time for North East firms to book on one of the first of a series of free UK Trade & Investment events throughout June to mark International Business Month.

Delegates to the seminar "Doing Business with South Africa... the Power of Partnerships" on the morning of Wednesday, 4 June at the Marriott MetroCentre, Gateshead can find out direct from the experts about the exciting opportunities in the emerging South African market.

The morning will feature Peter Hurst, UK Trade & Investment's High Growth Market Specialist, who will be telling delegates about the business opportunities available, including the exciting possibilities offered by the World Cup 2010.

Peter will also be talking about Broad Base Black Economic Empowerment and will be offering practical advice on how to find the ideal business partners in the market.

Tim Cantle-Jones, Managing Director of Urban Event Ltd and prominent North East businessman, will also talk about his own experiences of doing business in South Africa.

John Doolan, one of UK Trade & Investment's International Trade Advisers and organiser of the session, said: "South Africa is one of the most sophisticated and promising emerging markets in the world, importing a wide range of British goods and services. There are key business opportunities in a wide range of sectors, including agriculture, transport, environment, healthcare and power.  Education and training and sports and leisure are also very important sectors in South Africa."

To book your place or to find out more about the wide range of services available through UK Trade & Investment contact the North East Regional International Trade Hotline on 0845 05 05 054 or emailmailto:enquiries@ukti.rito.co.uk
